My method and the person behind it

I walk this path with you

For many years now, I've been helping people of many nationalities learn German, in person at first, mostly online today.

For 30 years, I have accompanied people learning German, in person at first, mostly online today. And I've learned one thing. We are all different, each of us learning at our own pace, shaped by our own story of success and failure. These experiences often leave deep marks, usually tangled up with fear, fear of the language, fear of speaking, because we feel embarrassed or afraid of sounding foolish.

That's how my method came about.

I believe that empathy and patience with ourselves matter most, along with the trust that we keep growing, climbing a little higher on our own learning spiral. That's why I want to be less of a teacher to my students, much more a companion genuinely on their side. So I named what I do German without Fear. Not as a slogan, but because I believe fear is the real opponent. Not grammar. Not vocabulary.
