I think you'd like to know who the person behind Deutsch ohne Angst is.
My name is Judit Wolf-Schäffer. I was born German in Hungary, which meant the German language had been part of my life since childhood. After graduating in German philology from the University of Szeged, I taught as a lecturer, both at university and college level. Then love led me to Passau. Together with my German husband, I'm the proud mother of two now-grown sons.
Before I started teaching online, I spent a few years at home with my children. During that time, I co-authored a thematic German-Hungarian dictionary, among other things, and also got a taste of the wonderful world of literary translation. But my true path is teaching, for me, not simply a profession, but a calling.
It's rounded out by dance, painting, writing poetry, nature, philosophy, yoga, and dabbling in other foreign languages now and then. That's also why I understand my students so well. I know how rocky the path upward on the spiral of learning a new language can be.
